What does the new MB Explore 2024 route have in store for you?

After a shared departure from Combloux, you’ll head off to the Mont d’Arbois massif, above the commune of Demi Quartier, with a first ascent of 9km and 600 m of D+. You’ll cross a variety of environments: alpine pastures, undergrowth, forest tracks and singles. At the top, a beautiful descent awaits you back to Megève and the 20km finish. It’s a fast one, but you’ll need to keep your wits about you on a few technical sections with roots.

Those wishing to continue the race must arrive in Megève before 11am. The rest of the route begins with a new ascent on the Massif du Jaillet side, 8 km long and 630 m D+. which will take you directly to the second junction at 29 km, where you can choose between rejoining the 35 km finish line or continuing on the 55 km route.

If you opt for the 35 km, you’ll go straight to Megève, with two beautiful descents to cross the finish line. But two runs mean a slight climb in between !

If you choose to continue and your legs allow it, you’ll ride along the ridges between the Col du Jaillet and the Tête du Torraz, where a magnificent 360° panorama of the Mont-Blanc, Aravis and Beaufortain ranges awaits you. After enjoying the view, you’ll plunge down to the heights of Flumet on a fun single track from La Char to Les Pontets Morettes. There, you can refuel at the refreshment station for the end of the route. You will then reach Praz sur Arly before arriving in Megève to cross the finish line of the 55 km MB Explore.
