MB Ultra : 2019 news !
The 6th of July 2019 at 6:00 am, 1250 participants will take the departure of the mythic MB Ultra in Combloux for 140km for the lucky ones… The first difficulty of the day will be Col du Jaillet climbing (1732m). Organizers took in consideration the issues of last year in order to offer a new safety way without Avenaz bike carrying. After the traditional refreshment point in La Giettaz, you will discover new tracks on the heights of Saint Nicolas la Chapelle to end up in Flumet village (km39).
You will continue with the traditional difficulties which made the MB Race success:
- Tête de Torraz (Km 50 – 1930m D+): a long ascent (11km and 1067 m D+) that will bring you at the summit of Flumet and Praz sur Arly.
- Mont Joux (Km 85 – 1958m D+) : a summit between Saint-Gervais and Megève, the downhill will bring you to Megève for 100 km checkpoint.
- Ban Rouge summit (Km 108 – 1980m D+): the Shimano Ultra Climb playground in 2018, you will face again this climbing from a new side that will be the penultimate ascent of the race.
- Plan de l’Aar (Km 122 -1732m D+) : last difficulty of MB Ultra, we hope that the ascent of the Plan de l’Aar will be again a fight between the first men. For others it will be the last ascent where you will have to draw on your last strenghts to reach the 140km finish line.
The finish lines of the 70 km and 140 km will take place in Combloux, in front of the Mont-Blanc, just after a downhill from Salles summit. Megève will see the participants of the 100km cross the finish line after the Plateau de la Croix and Mont Joux.
Who will be the strongest to succeed Urs Huber, MB Race Double winner? The MB Ultra do not let space for any mistakes. Physical preparation, material servicing, hydration and food managing, mental preparation : you will take care about all of these things, if you want to enter in the MB Ultra finishers circle ! Are you ready ? You still have only 8 month to get prepared…
